Who is Roberto de Mattei?

Roberto de Mattei, President of the Lepanto Foundation, has taught in several Italian universities and was the Vice President of the Italian National Research Council for eight years.

He is a member of the board of the John Paul II Academy for Human Life and the Family (Jahlf) and has participated in numerous public initiatives and campaigns in defence of life.

He is the author of thirty-five books which have been translated into various languages.

"Faced with the current question of the liceity of the vaccination against the coronavirus, consciences are being confused and weakened by certain approaches and, in the name of a false heroism, views are being spread which, in contrast with morality, are unnecessarily rigid. This compendium, which is consistent with the Magisterium of the Church, analyses the difficult moral question clearly and completely, answering effectively the various theses involved. It was much needed."

- Prof. Giorgia Brambilla -
Professor of Bioethics and Moral Theology

"I am deeply grateful to Professor Roberto de Mattei for his lucid and authoritative clarification of the licitness of using and administering Covid vaccines in the current pandemic. By courageously dispelling the confusion caused by the promotion of personal opinions in opposition to the consistent, tried and true moral doctrine of the Church, he has defended the consciences of ethical pro-life Catholic doctors and nurses. He has also protected the consciences, health and lives of the elderly and vulnerable Catholics who through fear of gravely offending God may have been misled into thinking that they do not have the moral option to use the vaccine."

- Dr. Thomas Ward -
President of the John Paul II Academy for Human Life and the Family
